Regardless of OC Ukeje’s efforts and feats in the movie
industry, the actor feels he has not done enough for himself as much as he
likes to.
In an
encounter with him, he told our correspondent, “I don’t think anyone is ever
satisfied with what
he or she has been able to achieve. We always strive to do
better, be better with our craft and attain some personal sense of perfection.
I believe I am still growing, still learning and trying to master the craft. As
an actor, it’s important to want to do more challenging roles and be in bigger
films as well.”
According
to the star actor of Potato Potahto,
which was premiered recently, there is a need for one to be conscious of
projects or movies one takes part in.
He explained, “For instance, I accepted to be part of Potato Potahto because of the storyline
and the people involved. The director, Shirley Frimpong-Manso, is a great
person and her work is pretty defined. I have had the advantage of working with
Joselyn Dumas on a project previously; so, it was easy to flow with her.
“The
movie is focused on a divorced couple living together. It has great
actors like Joke Silva, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Lala Akindoju and Chris Attoh. It
is now in the cinema; I think it’s something people will like to see.”
While
noting that filming Potato Potahto was
hectic because the crew shot for only a few days and he had to leave town, he
also admitted that he enjoyed himself and had fun on set.
